The back end uses rewritten DDSTCopier, DDSTCleaner and Crosser (cj_dv_anal) processes.
- the DDST processes keep one oracle connection each
- the Crosser process is now a C-program
- When disk space is low, then after two hours the DDSTCleaner purges files
that SHIFT has picked up. You can cause a full purge of the disks by touching
a file called /tmp/BLAST_DDST_BUFFERS in /tmp on the back-end node.
This summer the DDSTCopier will be rewritten to be a data file Server,
in conjunction with a data file Client on each ROPE engine. The client
will send all DDSTs, rope logs, and n-tuples to the server via tcp/ip.
